Welcome to my blog! I try to keep this updated with training and racing news as I pursue my Olympic dream.

I would like to thank the Alberta World Cup Society for funding the Academy program. Also, a big thanks to my awesome sponsors and of course my family who have supported me every step of the way!

I'm always looking for new sponsors so if you are interested or know of anyone who might be then contact me at alyssonmarshall(at)gmail.com for my sponsorship package.

National Team Announcement

I am excited to announce that I have been selected to the 2011/2012 Senior National Development Team! I met the criteria at the U23 World Championships when I placed 12th in the classic sprint. I am going to continue training with the Alberta World Cup Academy but I will do some camps with the National Team in addition to the Academy program. The national team announcement from CCC can be found here

After an amazing trip to Hawaii and a fun month off I am back to real training. Our first camp of the year started Monday morning. We stayed at Silver Star and skied at Sovereign Lake where they reopened for the week and have been grooming daily. They have received almost 7 feet of fresh snow since closing in April and it was good skiing for mid-May. It is great to have the team back together again and see some fresh faces, including my cousin Matt Wylie. However there are some people that are not on the team this year that will be missed. I am happy to be back to work and have girls to train with again.

The highlight of the camp was a 100km road ride that started in Armstrong and did a circle through Salmon Arm on the back roads, with an extra loop added on to the end. We also did a 9 km run up Silver Star Rd, a couple strength workouts and had some quality time in the "hot" tub filled with frigid water. My goal this spring was to maintain my fitness and get my running/biking legs back before training officially started. I was getting tired by the end of the week and my lactate tolerance after intensity was not ideal but overall I am happy with my general fitness.

I am heading back to Canmore tomorrow after a month away. Can't wait to unpack and sleep in my own bed again!
